Lin's Historic Home
There's nothing like having an original oil painting, whether it's a tranquil landscape, a blustery view of pounding surf, or a treasured portrait of a loved one or much loved pet. I'll work from your favorite photo or I'll take one for you if you're near the Rose Hill area. Take a look at the gallery in this site or call for an appointment to see my work and plan the painting you want.. Please allow time for the creative process and for drying.
I’d love to talk to you about your needs, vision and wishes. Don’t hesitate to contact me through any of the following methods:
This classic Southern Cottage Style home is virtually unchanged as far as structure and interior walls. Named for my great grandfather, The Robert Dickson Farm is on the National Registry of Historic Places. The original cabin was built some time around 1800, and was later joined to another dwelling of approximately 1865 vintage.
The home, abandoned for over 20 years, was restored when my late husband and I came home from California in 1988. I am of the Dickson bloodline and the fourth generation of Dickson family to live in the turn of the century home. The fat lightwood house, surrounding forest and farmland has had unbroken family ownership since the early 1800s. I continue to make this my private residence and Art Studio.
Visitors are welcome for tours, but I ask that you call me for an appointment at (910) 289-4171 or on my cell (910) 284-1247. Be prepared for barking dogs, noisy wind chimes and a serene rustic setting down a country lane..
