

Cypress Stumps from Cotton House
Once upon a time, there was a building out back of my house. When cotton was King, cotton was weighed and stored there. At one time it may have been slave quarters. In Grandpa's day, he used it to brew wine from his own grapevines. For the last 28 years it has been storage. Damaged by Hurricane Fran in 1996, it leaned, fell off it's cypress stump supports, and gave way to reuse of boards and tin roof in other repairs and applications. Grandfather's Beard
This is a small insignificant tree most of the year but it shines when it blooms with white blossoms that resemble a white beard on an elder gentleman.


Tree Damage from high winds
My ancient Pin Oak got topped by Mother Nature during high winds yesterday. The house is fine, the well survived, but my Dogwoods are in questionable condition. Check out the pictures.
